The Surgeon Simulator games are a series of comedic, physics-based hospital simulation video games, where the player assumes the role of a surgeon, a surgeon on a mission to cure the player. It features complete body dismemberment and the collection of body parts for use in surgical procedures, such as cutting, clanging, and many other activities. The first two games in the series, Surgeon Simulator 2013 and Surgeon Simulator 2014, were released in 2013 and 2014. Surgeon Simulator 2013 was the most successful of the series, with 9 million players, and received positive reviews. In September 2015, Bossa Studios announced Surgeon Simulator 2016, which was developed by Bossa's studio, HippoCampus. After releasing Surgeon Simulator 2016, the studio released two DLCs and a Limited Edition, and in 2017 released Surgeon Simulator 2017. On October 4, 2019, Bossa announced Surgeon Simulator 2019, the final installment in the Surgeon Simulator series. Surgeon Simulator 2019 will be released on Steam on April 3, 2020.
Surgeon Simulator is a medical simulator, in the same vein as recent releases such as Tetris Effect. Players put on a VR headset and play as a surgeon, an "unlimited number of times", and treat patients who have been placed in a virtual hospital. Surgeon Simulator 2018 is the first game in the series released on the Epic Games store.

Surgeon Simulator 2013 was released in 2013 by Bossa Studios, after being originally developed by Bossa's studio, Elstree Studios. It was released for Microsoft Windows, Linux and OS X on December 5, 2013. It is the first Surgeon Simulator game released by Bossa Studios, and the first game in the series released after the release of the Kudos series.
